These Republicans Could Potentially Announce Presidential Bids In 2023

Trump, the former President, announced in November that Trump is running again for president. He could be challenged during the 2024 GOP presidential primaries.

Numerous candidates could enter the race in 2023 as several Republican figures indicate that they are considering a presidential run.

Mike Pence

Mike Pompeo
Trump’s former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also CIA director under Trump. He is now considering a presidential run.

According to Semafor, he stated that he has not decided whether he will run and that his decision to run does not depend on whether a lane is filled or who gets into the race. “So, I don’t think about how to differentiate, or how to go scramble in order for some thin sliver of space, or how to get into the lane. I think about what can be done to deliver positive outcomes for American citizens, and how can I help them do that. Susan and I think this way when we consider whether or not to accomplish our goal. If we decide it should be someone else we will work hard for him or her.”
Maryland Governor. Larry Hogan stated that people encouraged him to run for president.

Hogan said to Fox 5 that he doesn’t believe he’s ever stated that he was interested in running for president. He also mentioned that many people encouraged him to run.
Hogan stated that he will talk with his family and friends to determine how he can best serve the country in 2023.

Asa Hutchinson
Outgoing Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson noted that he’s considering a White House bid.

Nikki Haley
Former U.S. Ambassador Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley served that role during Trump’s term. She indicated that she was considering a run for the presidency, and that “we will finish it” if she decides to enter the race.
Ron DeSantis
Florida Gov. Florida Governor.

A new book is due to be published by the governor in 2023. His first book was published in 2011, just before he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

DeSantis may have the best chance to defeat Trump, out of all possible GOP presidential candidates. According to a Wall Street Journal poll, Trump was trailed by only 38% in a Trump-vs. DeSantis contest.
