The majority of House of Representatives leaders have voted for the new Congress. Now they are making public some of their plans and priorities. They are now making some of their priorities and plans public. Steve Scalise (a Republican from Louisiana) was elected House Majority Leader for the upcoming session. Monday’s announcement by Scalise stated that Joe Biden’s failed Afghanistan withdrawal and Hunter Biden’s “laptop scam” will be investigated. Joe Biden’s conduct and the origin of COVID-19 would be under investigation.

Republicans in Congress have made efforts at investigating the origin of COVID-19 and what role the United States possibly played by funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through EcoHealth Alliance. Back in 2021, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) harshly questioned FBI Director Chris Wray about that agency’s interactions with Chinese virologist Yan Li-Meng, who came to the United States in April 2020 and presented the FBI with evidence that COVID-19 was an engineered virus (due to a telltale double CGG amino acid sequence), intimating that the FBI was part of a cover-up. Various Senate committees have looked into US funding of gain-of-function research at Wuhan, and in October the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee Minority oversight staff concluded in an interim report that “SARS-CoV-2 and the resulting COVID-19 global pandemic was, more likely than not, the result of a research-related incident associated with coronavirus research in Wuhan, China.” Without having a majority in either chamber, though, their efforts have been stymied.
This will all change when the new Congress convenes. Scalise said that the House Committee on Oversight and Reform would launch an investigation after an interview with Alex Marlow from Breitbart.
We have had a lot of discussions about the origins and evolution of COVID. We are investigating whether taxpayer money was used for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan laboratory. Many scientists believe that that is where COVID originated. We didn’t investigate because Speaker Pelosi, Biden, and others don’t want China confronted on any issue. We must be aggressive.

Polls show that a majority of Americans–Republicans and Democrats alike–believe that COVID-19 started at the Wuhan lab and want to see it investigated. We have the right to find out if taxpayer-funded coronavirus experiments using bats and humanized mouse models caused a pandemic. This is the most pressing issue of our times. ”
It must be severe if that investigation uncovers the truth.
