Although it’s been more than a year since the FDA approved the first vaccines for emergency use, new cases of COVID-19 in the United States have increased by nearly two-thirds over the past week.
The cases have arisen due to the omicron and delta variants. New cases average over 265,000 per day, surpassing the 250,000 mark in mid-January.
On Monday, more Americans died from COVID than under Donald Trump. Joe Biden also shifted responsibility for ending the pandemic to our nation’s governors, arguing that there is no federal solution to COVID. This is solved at the state level.
