It wasn’t difficult to predict that President Joe Biden would make a haphazardly planned “border trip” to El Paso as part of his weekend trip to Mexico to attend the “Three Amigos Summit”. The only thing that was accomplished was Biden attempting to appear to Do Something(tm).
We learned ahead of Biden’s visit that El Paso, a Democratic-run city, had reportedly been cleaned and “sanitized,” of the migrant camps which had sprung up in the downtown area. Similar to the way that Democrat-run cities in the past have temporarily swept homeless people off the streets before the DNC presidential conventions, this is also similar.
Biden did not visit downtown El Paso, but he didn’t meet migrants wherever he went on his staged and scripted tour through Mexico/U.S. border.
Fox News reported Monday that over 500 migrants met in a 24-hour span from Sunday to Monday. Joe Biden was also there to get a firsthand view of what was happening:
The network reported further that the number of migrant encounters in the first quarter fiscal year 2023 has exceeded the numbers for the same time period in FY2022.
Fox News Digital reports that U.S. border officials encountered more than 718,000. These migrants were trying to cross the border between the U.S. and Mexico in the first 100 days fiscal year 2023.
CBP sources said that FY 2023 began October 1st and U.S. Customs and Border Protections has seen more than 230,000 migrants every month since then. Just over 198,000 of the 718,000 encountered migrants were removed immediately under Title 42. President Biden’s administration failed in December to end this practice.
This data shows an alarming increase in migration in comparison to the same quarter in fiscal year 2022, when the CBP had approximately 518,000 border encounters during the first quarter.
Another thing to keep in mind is the shameful act of Biden wrapping his arms around border patrol officers and pretending support as he tried to help them after the agency was thrown under the bus for the Haitian migrant whipping incident. This was something that neither Biden nor any other member of his administration, including the Dept. Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, has since apologized for the incident, despite the fact that they have been cleared of the most serious charges.
You won’t see much, but you can move on. Only the President of the United States, using his tax dollars to pay meaningless attention to a crisis of his own and his administration’s making so that when he is questioned about visiting the border, he can tell reporters that he has done his part.
