Man Charged With Trafficking After 13-Year-Old Missing Texas Girl Was Found Locked In His North Carolina Shed

After deputies found a Texas 13-year old missing in his shed, a North Carolina man was charged with half a dozen felonies including child rape and human trafficking.

Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho (34), is accused of grooming and driving to Dallas to pick up the teen and then abducting her and taking her to Lexington. He allegedly sexually assaulted the 13-year-old and kept her in a shed.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office which received a notice from the FBI on March 10, the FBI informed them that Dallas police were looking for the girl.

The sheriff’s office stated in a press release that “the content of the chat was consistent with grooming and enticement.” “Video cameras captured a suspect vehicle that was registered to Davidson County address from the area around the child’s house.”

Authorities found the vehicle in town and pulled it over.

“During the traffic stop, it was determined that the juvenile was locked in an outbuilding on the property,” authorities said.

The sheriff’s emergency team entered the shed to recover the girl. Authorities said that she did not appear to have suffered any physical injuries.

She was then taken to the hospital for an evaluation and returned home to Texas with her family.

Tuesday morning, the number of the property owner was disconnected. FOX News reported that Camacho lived in the shed for approximately two years. She was also friends with her son.

She said that she had taken him in and helped him out. “I don’t have any involvement in what he’s doing because I didn’t know that he was such a person.”

Camacho is currently being held in Lexington, Davidson County Jail on a $ 1.25 million bond. He faces charges of child abduction and felonious restraint. Trafficking, statutory rape, sex with a minor under 15, and indecent liberty, all felonies.

Additional charges are still pending.
