James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Senator Chuck Grassley stated Wednesday that a whistleblower has claimed that the FBI and Justice Department have a document describing a criminal plot involving Joe Biden who was the Vice president at the time, and a foreigner involving the exchange of cash for policy decisions.
Comer, R.-Ky. and Grassley R.-Iowa say that the whistleblower claimed the document “includes a detailed description of the alleged criminal plan as well as the purpose.”
The document is an FBI-generated FD-1023, which allegedly details a scheme involving the exchange of money in return for policy decisions.
Comer issued a summons today after legally protected disclosures were made to Grassley’s office.
“We believe that the FBI has an unclassified document which contains very serious and detailed accusations implicating the President of the United States,” Grassley stated. What we don’t yet know is whether the FBI has taken any action to investigate or verify these allegations. “The FBI’s history of botching politically-charged investigations requires close congressional oversight.”
Comer said that the information “raises concern that Vice President Biden, at that time, allegedly engaged in an alleged bribery plan with a foreign citizen”.
Comer stated that “the American people must know if Biden sold the United States of America in order to make money.” “Senator Grassley will investigate the facts to ensure accountability for American citizens,” Comer said.
Comer and Grassley informed Wray and Attorney-General Merrick Garland of “legally protected, highly credible and unclassified whistleblower revelations” on Wednesday.
The document, they said, “provides a detailed description of the alleged criminal plan, including its purpose and how it was implemented.”
Comer and Grassley stated that based on the “alleged specificity in the document”, it appears that the DOJ has enough information to determine whether the information is accurate and true.
It is unclear, however, what steps were taken, if any. They added that “significant public concern in assessing the FBI’s response to this information, and growing concerns about the DOJ’s and FBI’s record of allowing bias to affect their decision-making processes, necessitates strict congressional oversight.”
They added that “Congress will conduct an independent, objective, that is free of influence review on this matter.”
They wrote: “Transparency leads to accountability.”
Comer’s Committee has investigated Hunter Biden’s business dealings abroad, the involvement of the Biden Family, and whether or not President Biden was involved. Comer warned that business dealings with people in China, Ukraine, and other countries pose a risk to national security.
Since 2019, Grassley, the Senate’s Grassley, has been looking into Hunter Biden’s business dealings as well as any alleged Biden involvement.
White House officials have maintained that President Obama never discussed his son’s business dealings with him and that he was never involved. Officials say that the president never spoke to the Justice Department about investigations of members of his own family.
Records reveal that Hunter’s associates were at the Obama White House when Biden was Vice President.
Hunter Biden is under federal investigation by the FBI since 2018. The federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s “tax affairs” started after the discovery of suspicious activities reports (SARs), which were based on funds from “China, and other foreign countries.”
