South Africa’s latest data on COVID-19 Omicron appears to have good news. Despite the hysterics of mostly Western leaders for a month, it seems that Omicron’s initial evidence is starting to show itself over time.
South Africa is reporting lower hospitalization rates despite being at the heart of its Omicron wave. Worldwide, deaths from the variant are still extremely low.
Friday’s positive news from South Africa was provided by the health minister. He noted a lower rate of hospitalizations for the Omicron variant and a milder version of the disease.
Only 1.7 percent of COVID-19 victims were admitted during the second week after the fourth wave of pandemics, as compared with 19% in the same week.
This is great news for those who do not rely on COVID-19 for their fame, financial gains, and power. South Africa’s health minister also credits vaccinations. However, only 23% of the population has been fully vaccinated. This means that South Africa is worse off than the unvaccinated areas of the United States, which politicians continue to preach doom.
The data show that Omicron is less virulent than natural immunity, which despite its low vaccination rate, has led to some positive outcomes. What are the Western leaders doing to respond? Doubling down upon draconian mitigation steps, of course.
These people will never stop, as I have said before. Omicron may actually be a better variant than the one we have now, which could help us escape the pandemic by becoming an endemic mild strain. Fauci’s fame will end, Scott Gottlieb’s cable-news hits cease, Pfizer profits plummet and Democrat politicians lose all their absolute power. The hysteria will not stop until people stop complying. This is already happening in many areas of the US.
We will likely see more deaths as Omicron becomes more prevalent in countries with higher elderly and obese populations. We are now at the point that any claims that Omicron is “more dangerous”, that it requires more severe mitigation, or that it needs a new vaccine, must be supported by actual data and not fear-mongering. There is no reason to increase lockdowns, mandates for vaccinations, or passport systems until there is evidence to the contrary.
All that being said, you need to pay attention to those who keep pushing this stuff. And then stop listening to them.
