Biden’s Agriculture Department Illegally Boosts Food Stamp Benefits by $200 Billion

After illegally bailing out college students with a $400M student debt amnesty, Joe Biden is back to action. The House Republicans should stop these illegal measures.

According to a Government Accountability Office report released last week, Biden’s Department of Agriculture abused its authority under the 2018 Farm Bill to speed up a review of food costs required by the legislation. It also broke its own guidelines when arriving at those costs. As a result of these illegal changes, food stamp benefits increased beyond inflation for the first time in 45 years.

Since 1975, the USDA has created food plans that provide a balanced diet at four price levels: low-cost, moderate-cost, liberal, and high-cost. The USDA has reevaluated these levels three times since 1975.

A new evaluation was required by the 2018 Farm Bill. It had to be done by 2022. After the 2018 Farm Bill, reevaluations were required every five years.

According to the GAO, the Biden administration basically cooked its computer model and broke nearly a dozen USDA guidelines in order to obtain a shocking 21% increase in maximum food stamp benefits.

Predictably, even after being presented with the GAO’s conclusions, the Biden administration was unapologetic about its illegal activity.

Responding to the GAO report USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack said that “We stand firm both on our quality work as well as the impact it had in the lives of millions.” “We owed the American people the ability to quickly and efficiently complete the revaluation — and that’s exactly what we did. ”

Biden has demonstrated that there are no laws that he won’t break to gain political advantage. This includes its illegal student bailouts and refusal to enforce immigration laws in the country to this food stamp bonus. Additionally, the USDA should redo its 2018 Farm Bill reevaluation. The process will be done according to established USDA guidelines.
