Activists Suing DeSantis Over Martha’s Vineyard Flights Received Over $1.3M From George Soros Network

Rick Scott, Florida Governor, is currently facing a class-action lawsuit from an activist group. Ron DeSantis and other Florida officials have received nearly $1.4million from George Soros’ Open Society network for their migrant flights between Florida and Martha’s Vineyard.

Lawyers for Civil Rights, a non-profit advocacy group for immigrants, filed the lawsuit against Alianza Americas. According to Tuesday’s press release the group was described by Tuesday as “a network of migrant-led organizations supporting immigrants across the United States.” ”

Alianza Americas received $1383,947 from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations between 2016 and 2020 according to OSF records.

The grants were provided by three of his non-profits: Open Society Institute, Open Society Policy Center, and Foundation to Promote Open Society.

These grants were given to support policy advocacy on immigration, the Global Compact for Migration initiative and to strengthen international work of the group.

Lawyers for Civil Rights was a law firm that filed the suit. The suit was filed by Lawyers for Civil Rights. They received $50,000 from Borealis Philanthropy in 2019. Tax forms prove it.

Borealis has partnered with Black Lives Matter and the left-leaning Marguerite Casey Foundation. This foundation supports the elimination and abolishment of prisons and police.

Alianza Americas received $1.26 million from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation between 2008 and 2019.

MacArthur Foundation supports liberal causes. It announced in September 2020 that it would give $25 million in grants to fight “anti-Black racism”, assist Native Americans affected COVID-19, and strengthen voter education, mobilization and combat voter suppression.

Lawyers for Civil Rights in Massachusetts filed an action class-action suit alleging DeSantis and others “designed and executed a fraudulent, illegal, and premeditated plan centered around exploiting that vulnerability for their financial, political and personal interests.” ”

According to the lawsuit, migrants were informed that they would be traveling to Boston and Washington. According to the lawsuit, migrants were told that they would be going to Boston or Washington. They were also given $10 McDonald’s gift certificates. Some Democratic officials are using this line to demand a federal investigation.

TarynFenske, spokesperson for DeSantis said that the lawsuit was “political theater” and was being committed at the expense of illegal immigrants in a statement made to Fox News Digital.
