A 15-year-old boy was charged with the brutal murders of his adoptive parents, in Chesapeake, Virginia.
According to the Chesapeake Police Department, it was called by a report that some people were injured Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m.
Officers arrived at Donna Daugherty (61) & John Daugherty 60 (60) and found that they were being attacked with a knife and hammer. According to the police,
The police stated that they believed the 15-year-old son of the couple had killed them.
WVEC TV was informed by neighbors that the couple had two other adopted children. The police were able to view the children outside the house.
Other nearby residents said they were shocked at the murders.
“I mean, I just can’t believe this even happened. I’m still shocked by it. As soon as I came in, my sister asked me, have you been watching the news? I’ve been at work all day,” said Eddie Gray to WTKR-TV.
He stated that his parents were extremely dedicated.
“Yeah,” Gray replied, “It’s nuts. ”
He also stated that his sister had spoken to one of the victims on the day before the murders.
They had a tradition of eating out. He said.
Two charges of aggravated murder were filed against the teen. Police did not reveal the motive for the murders.
