A Montana attorney general press release stated that the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area taskforce seized almost three times as many Fentanyl pills in 2022, than it did in 2021. The 2022 level is nearly 11,000% higher that the 2019 level.

The press release stated that task force seized 206.955 dose units in 2022. This represents an increase of 60.577 dosage units in 2021, and 1,900 in 2019. These figures, compiled by six task forces, “are not exhaustive” and do not include drug seizures in any state law enforcement.

“Illegal fentanyl has been crossing the southern border in a dramatic increase.” According to the press release by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, this poison is killing Montanans. We need more resources and tools to keep this drug out of our communities. ”

Knudsen demanded that drug cartels be designated terrorist organizations. In an interview with Chris Cuomo of NewsNation, Montana’s attorney General stated that the cartels were “undermining the nation” and “poisoning the citizens”.

Fentanyl may be deadly and dangerous.

“As 2022 comes to an end, the Drug Enforcement Administration announces that the Drug Enforcement Administration has taken possession of more than 50.6million fentanyl-laced prescription drugs and more than 10,000 pounds of fentanyl powder this calendar year,” the DEA Laboratory stated. These seizures are more than 379 million potentially fatal doses.

Anne Milgram, DEA administrator pointed out two drug cartels. According to a DEA press release, “DEA’s top operational objective is to defeat the Sinaloa Cartels (CJNG Cartels), and the Sinaloa CJNG), which are primarily responsible for fentanyl that is killing Americans today.”
