Joe Rogan Is Under Fire Once Again

Joe Rogan, the King of Podcasting, interviewed Robert Malone. Malone is an accomplished virologist and worked for the Salk Institute for many years. He also worked with the Department of Defense as well as our public health agencies for over a decade. Malone now is persona non Grata as he raises concerns about the long-term and short-term side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine and strongly opposes the vaccination of children.

To stop debate and other points of view, 270 medical professionals, scientists communicators, and researchers wrote an open letter to Spotify. They demanded that Spotify adopt a misinformation policy to censor Rogan’s podcasts about COVID-19. Although they have many complaints, their only support is the FDA’s decision not to recommend ivermectin in COVID-19. In the 1980s, Bactrim was not recommended for patients with AIDS. It is now the only drug that is recommended for this condition.

Rogan’s influence and reach is the real problem for the authors. They conclude that scientists face resistance and backlash as the public distrusts their research and expertise. We are science communicators and educators, and we have to repair the public’s misunderstanding of science and medicine.” Although many of these people may be doctors, they incorrectly diagnosed the problem. They must fix the damage to their credibility and not the public’s understanding. Science and medicine are not just declarations made by their respected institutions.

Rogan interviewed doctors and scientists on both sides of the COVID-19 issue. Rogan and Malone spoke together for three hours about a variety of topics related to the virus. Malone explained mass formation psychosis in the viral clip.

It is difficult to understand a society that is disconnected from one another and suffers from free-floating anxiety, a lack of understanding, and a feeling that everything doesn’t make sense. Then, their attention is drawn to a single point by a leader or series of events. This is similar to hypnosis. They are able to be guided anywhere and they become hypnotized. One aspect of this phenomenon is their identification of leaders. These are the people who come in and say, “You have this pain, I can fix it for you.” Only you and I can solve this problem. They will then follow that person. It doesn’t matter if they lie to you or not. These data are irrelevant. Anyone who doubts this narrative should be attacked immediately. They are one. This is the central idea behind mass formation psychosis.

There are obvious parallels between the COVID-19 response and this one. About one-third of Americans take Dr. Anthony Fauci’s words as gospel, and believe that vaccine compliance can be used to eliminate COVID-19. They see those who are not in agreement with them as “the Other”. Here are some highlights from the Democratic views in Covidstan.

  • 59% of respondents support a policy that would confine the unvaccinated to their homes, except in emergencies.
  • 48% believe that the federal and state governments should have the power to imprison or fine individuals who question the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines via social media, radio, television, radio or online.
  • 45 percent support governments that require citizens to live temporarily in certain facilities or locations, if they refuse to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
  • 47% support a government digital tracking system for people who don’t get the COVID-19 vaccination to ensure that they are socially isolated and quarantined.

Spotify should respond in the same manner as it did to any other attack on Rogan. You can still access the episode with Dr. Malone on Spotify. We need to have more conversations with people with different views, not less. Certain, they will all be wrong and some will be right. This is science and open inquiry. This is why Rogan’s 10 million-plus listeners tune into the show. Spotify has to risk this large number of customers.

The listeners can expect to hear a lengthy discussion that goes into great detail. Rogan prepares for interviews and asks thoughtful questions. He also challenges his guests’ views. Rogan demands that they be exact and digs into their words until he understands them. Rogan then allows his audience to choose between different points of view. Maybe that’s the reason why the establishment and left repeatedly attack Rogan.
